Due to increased workload, our Receiver Core Development Team (CDT) is looking to appoint a Graduate Level Engineer to work within the Digital Hardware Engineering Team which is involved in developing a diverse product portfolio. Projects that you will be involved in include developing the Fire Control Receiver/Exciters for the Radars fitted to the next generation of Gripen and Typhoon Fast Jets. You will be responsible for designing high speed digital circuits that utilise the latest FPGA, Microprocessor and high speed interconnect technologies.

Key Responsibility Areas
Reporting to, and being mentored by more Senior Engineers within the team you will be involved in complex high speed Digital circuit design utilising the latest technologies including FPGAs, Microprocessors and DACs/ADCs.
You will provide design support throughout the full hardware lifecycle from requirements analysis; through Design & Simulation, onto integrating hardware with Firmware; and lastly to acceptance test and delivery to the customer.
You will be fully documenting and recording your work products and in doing so will also gain an understanding of configuration control and gain experience in planning and progress reporting.
You will develop practical skills in design techniques for low noise and high speed applications, gain an understanding of key processes and technologies, and develop leading edge, multi-layer boards using the latest technologies available.
Through the experience you gain in this role you will have the opportunity to progress through the Engineering Career Framework allowing you the prospect to progress up to Senior, Principal and then Lead Engineer.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
In order to be considered for this role you must be keen to work in an electronics role and will have, or be working towards, qualifications in in Electronic Engineering (BSc, BEng, MEng, MSc, PhD, EngD) or a related science.
Some experience/knowledge acquired in the areas listed below would be advantageous but is not essential;
Experience of Schematic Capture.
An understanding/awareness of DACs and ADCs
An understanding/awareness of FPGAs
Knowledge of high speed serial communication protocols and architectures
Hands on experience of MicroProcessor Based designs.
Experience of working in an Electronics Laboratory Environment.
