Our Culture

We want to be recognised as the best place to work, with an environment in which our people are empowered and can bring their authentic self. A place in which everyone can thrive and flourish.

Inclusion in everything we do

Making the workplace fair and open for all is fundamental to our success.

True inclusion at Roche really is our priority. We are on a journey together, learning and growing every single day. Our efforts support the growth of our internal culture but also are crucial to influencing the systemic changes needed within the healthcare industry too. Here’s an idea of some of the great initiative we have on offer:

  • Award-winning flexible working and location-agnostic working
  • A government accredited disability confident employer
  • Equal maternity and shared parental leave of 75% pay for a year
  • Menopause policy, support and additional paid leave
  • Extensive compassionate leave policy covering a huge array of life circumstances including fertility treatment, bereavement and domestic abuse
  • A specific carers leave policy with additional paid leave
  • Volunteering days and charity partnerships
  • Maternity mentors who support mothers on their return to work

A chance to be heard

Our employee engagement goes beyond just surveying once a year. Our feedback culture enables our active employee resources groups to drive positive change throughout our organisation.

No one is ever alone - there is always something or someone there to help.

It’s a chance to come together with like-minded individuals and explore your passion for the greater good. There really is something for everyone:

  • STEM ambassadors
  • Equity Diversity + Inclusion Network
  • Out Proud and Equal Network
  • Eco Crew (Environmental Network)
  • Early Careers Forum
  • Data Sciences Network
  • Sports and Social clubs
  • Charity Committee
  • Wellbeing Community

Wellbeing is more than just a strategy on paper

We live and breathe “LiveWell”: our global wellbeing programme which has run for over 10 years. From talks with big names, to painting rocks for our Zen garden, our year-round efforts touch every aspect of wellbeing.

Complimented with our incredible benefits (including free onsite gym membership) and occupational health support, no one is ever alone - there is always something or someone there to help.

Innovating our sites

Our Welwyn Garden City site has recently undergone an expansive refurbishment, creating an exciting, vibrant and collaborative working environment. Our Burgess Hill site plans are also underway.
