At CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature.

Job description
Want to contribute to one of the world's most ambitious science projects while building your skills in planning, data and project coordination?
Join the FCC project's Scheduling, Planning & Resources Office and work with an international community of scientists, engineers and specialists. You will help us improve how we plan, organise and use project information, and gain hands-on experience of how a project of this scale comes together.
We are looking for someone curious, collaborative and eager to learn. You don't need to know everything from day one - we are interested in your potential, your ideas and your willingness to grow.
Your responsibilities
Engage with teams across the FCC project to understand, gather and document their scheduling, planning and resource-management requirements.
Help develop and improve the tools and workflows we use to plan resources.
Support resource planning and tracking, helping ensure that project information is complete, consistent and up to date.
Map and analyse processes, identifying opportunities to simplify workflows, improve efficiency and strengthen collaboration.
Work with structured project data, helping improve its quality, consistency and usability.
Your profile
A degree in business, finance, economics, management, engineering, or something related, or equivalent experience.
Experience with digital tools and quick to pick up new systems (Excel is a must; exposure to planning tools, ERPs, or dashboarding tools like Power BI is a bonus, not a requirement).
Skills
Requirements gathering and analysis, with an ability to understand different needs and translate them into clear requirements.
Clear communication and collaboration in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
Analytical and structured thinking, with attention to detail.
Curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn.
Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
Eligibility criteria
You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Business Administration, Finance (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
What we offer
A monthly net stipend of either 5,266 or 5,793 Swiss Francs per month depending on your degree.
30 days of paid leave per year plus 2 weeks annual closure.
Coverage by CERN’s comprehensive health insurance scheme (for yourself, your spouse and children), and membership of the CERN Pension Fund.
Family, child and infant monthly allowances depending on your individual circumstances.
A relocation package (installation grant and travel expenses) depending on your individual circumstances.
Possibility to extend your contract up to 36 months.
On-the-job and formal training including language classes.
We've signed the Gradcracker feedback pledge.
(This means that we will supply feedback if requested after an interview.)
