We’re ForrestBrown, a firm of chartered tax advisers specialising in innovation incentives. Our expert team combines specialist tax knowledge, substantial sector experience and a genuine passion for helping innovative businesses grow. We work with a wide portfolio of clients, helping them access R&D tax relief and navigate the opportunities and challenges that come with innovation.

You’ll join a fast-paced, collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality R&D tax advice. Every day will be different. You’ll work with clients and colleagues to understand innovative projects, gather and analyse information, and help identify qualifying R&D activities and expenditure.

You might be analysing financial information, researching HMRC guidance, or helping prepare the documentation and calculations that support an R&D tax claim. You’ll also have the opportunity to join client meetings, giving you early exposure to clients and helping you develop the communication and commercial skills needed to become a trusted tax professional.

As a Tax Associate at ForrestBrown, you’ll have real responsibility from the start. But you won’t do it alone. You’ll work closely with experienced members of the tax team who will support you as you build your technical knowledge and confidence. We’ll give you the training, feedback and guidance you need to produce accurate, high-quality work, manage your own workload and take ownership of your development.

And there’s plenty of opportunity to learn. Alongside your role, you’ll be supported in studying towards the ATT and CTA qualifications, building a strong foundation in UK taxation and professional practice. You’ll be encouraged to put what you learn into practice every day, while developing your knowledge of R&D tax and the wider issues affecting our clients.

We’re looking for ambitious individuals who are curious about how businesses work and excited by the opportunity to develop a career in tax. You don’t necessarily need previous tax experience. If you’ve worked in tax, accounting, finance or another relevant commercial environment, that’s a bonus, but we’re just as interested in your potential.

You might be a graduate looking to start a specialist career, someone with experience in finance or professional services looking for a new challenge, or simply someone who is fascinated by innovation and wants to understand how businesses develop and commercialise new products, processes and technologies.

What matters most is that you’re analytical, organised and naturally curious. You’ll need a keen eye for detail, strong numerical and communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of work. You’ll also need the resilience and positive attitude to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and the commitment to balance professional study with your client and team responsibilities.

If you’re ambitious about developing into a technically strong and commercially aware tax professional, and you want to work as part of a supportive team helping innovative businesses grow, you could be our perfect match.

Please note, we are unable to offer sponsorship for employment visas at this time. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
