By joining us you will start building the foundations of your successful career. Everything we do is focused on delivering high-calibre training, incredible support and insight into how to perform at a high level within a professional environment. We heavily invest in hiring the right people, continuously developing a syllabus that is relevant to today’s in demand roles and placing people in ambitious, high performing teams.
Our full-time training focuses on providing the technical skills to work in data roles and the professional skills and behaviours that deliver high performance from Day 1 until you finish your career. Our roles focus on two areas: data engineering and data analysis. What we teach will depend on the roles that clients are looking to fill.
Professional high performance: great employers highly value behaviours and the ability to learn new skills because they are the strongest indicators of success. We will teach you to do everything in a way that will build trust in your ability and ideas through workshops, assessments and continual performance tracking. We will also teach logical problem solving, business fundamentals and presentation skills.
Technical excellence: you will develop the technical skills required to work as a data engineer or analyst, adding value to the team from Day 1. All trainees start by learning software fundamentals so that they can write code that is valued by professional colleagues. After this you will be introduced to data before focusing on either data analysis or engineering. Regardless of what you learn, our goal is to over-qualify you, to maximise our chance of finding a role.
The training is free, unpaid and before starting the training programme you will need to commit to work for Sigma Labs for 2 years afterwards should we find you a role.
At the end of the training, you will enter a Transition Period of 4 to 8 weeks. During this time we aim to set up interviews with our clients with the intention that you work with them for 2 years. We can’t guarantee exactly what the role will be but you will have the ability to excel.
During the transition period, you will also work on personal projects and continue to learn to help consolidate your knowledge and better prepare you for your first role in tech.
Once you’re working with one of our clients, your salary with Sigma Labs begins (£30,000). We will continue to develop you through this period with ongoing technical, pastoral and professional support. Your annual salary in the second year will be £38,000.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure you have the skills and practical experience to be in a mid-level technical role after 2 years and ultimately excel in a much longer career. We want to set you up now with the knowledge and belief to do that.
After working for Sigma Labs for 2 years, the following will happen:
