Immersion Cooling Feasibility, Netherlands
RED took the lead as consultants, collaborating closely with subcontractors throughout the project. Our team conducted a feasibility study for a prominent cloud services provider. The objective was to retrofit liquid cooling immersion systems into an existing data centre facility.
The endeavour aimed to enhance cooling efficiency, optimise energy usage, and ensure the seamless integration of innovative technology within the data centre infrastructure. By leveraging liquid cooling solutions, the client sought to address thermal management challenges and elevate performance while maintaining operational reliability.
This forward-thinking initiative reflects the industry’s ongoing pursuit of sustainable and cutting-edge solutions in data centre design and operation.
The project compromised 2MW of IT deployment through an immersion cooling system. The design also incorporated waste-heat export from the immersion cooling tanks to be used by the local utility provider in the surrounding area.
Halk Bank Data Centre, Turkey
This facility not only sets a new precedent in Data Centre design for Turkey, but also incorporates innovative technologies and cutting-edge infrastructure to meet the growing demands of the digital era.
RED was appointed Lead Consultant for this new standalone primary Data Centre facility for Halkbank. RED played a pivotal role in the project, seamlessly taking it from the initial concept design stage to full detailed design and construction. The facility was meticulously prepared for IT fit-out after the Integrated Systems Testing (IST) phase.
RED’s scope also encompassed Uptime design and facility certification, ensuring the highest level of reliability and performance, as well as LEED certification, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. This comprehensive approach ensured the successful realization of a world-class facility.
The Relay Building, London
RED was appointed to undertake a due diligence survey and report for the purchase of the mixed use residential and office building at One Commercial Street. Subsequently RED was appointed to provide the MEP design for the Cat A fit out of 9,000m2 of speculative office space and major refurbishment of the Commercial reception.
We provided sketches, drawings, and detailed Request for Information (RFI) lists, actively challenging the original design to ensure it was suitable for construction. Our team also supported the MEP contractor in coordinating service distribution routes with a ±500mm tolerance, enhancing project efficiency.
The ongoing project focuses on ensuring airport compliance with new DfT requirements. Key elements include replacing security equipment and baggage scanners in central search areas. The project also involves strategically rearranging space to accommodate adapted passenger flows. These efforts aim to enhance security measures and streamline operations, ensuring the airport meets the latest regulatory standards for a seamless and compliant travel experience.
Heathrow Airport Terminal 3
This project involves a comprehensive due diligence review of stage 4 design, coordination of service routes during construction, builders works hole setting out, commissioning system review, and management of MEP construction models. It includes technical support, integration of third-party items, and commissioning assistance.

Eastbrook Studios, London
Eastbrook Studios will be London’s largest film and television studio located in Dagenham, East London. Plans include up to 12 sound stages three acres of backlot, offices and ancillary space. RED has undertaken the RIBA Stage 4 design for Dalkia.
The RED team then co-located with the Dalkia team to form a highly collaborative working environment to support procurement activities, whilst maintaining oversight on the technical design. This was a highly effective arrangement, with the RED team often being indistinguishable from the Dalkia team.
Eastbrook Studios London will be a major boost for the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, the City of London and the UK entertainment industry at large, creating an estimated 1,200 jobs, contributing £35m per year to the local economy and inspiring more development into thriving East London.
Barking Energy Centre, London
The Energy Centre will generate electricity and produce hot water. This efficient, low carbon technology will provide businesses and homes across the Town Centre with low carbon energy. The proposed scheme brings low carbon energy to Barking. The scheme is intended to be flexible and adaptable enough to accommodate and respond to the evolving UK energy market as well as being robust and efficient enough to maintain low operating costs over its full economic life.
The coordination of the project posed significant challenges due to site constraints and the size of the required plant and equipment. However, RED Engineering provided unwavering support to Ameresco, ensuring that a viable solution was achieved despite the obstacles.
Through careful planning and innovative problem-solving, RED collaborated closely with Ameresco to devise a strategy that effectively addressed the site limitations. This collaborative effort resulted in a successful outcome, showcasing RED expertise in overcoming complex challenges and delivering solutions that meet the unique needs of each project.
White City, West London
RED, a prominent contributor to the White City development, has played a vital role in the creation of this residential scheme in the heart of west London. RED's expertise in mechanical and electrical services has greatly contributed to enhancing the functionality and comfort of the White City development. Notably, their implementation of an energy centre, featuring a 1.3MW(th)/1.28MW(e) combined heat and power (CHP) system and two 2MW high-efficiency boilers, ensures an efficient and reliable energy supply to meet the development's demands.
Additionally, RED has integrated a central chilled water system that provides optimal cooling to the apartments and residential facilities, creating a comfortable living environment year-round. Furthermore, their inclusion of a rainwater harvesting system promotes sustainability by collecting and storing rainwater for irrigation purposes. With their proactive approach and comprehensive commissioning management, RED ensures the successful completion of the White City development, meeting evolving client requirements.
