Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Product Release and Integration Management - Placement to join our team specialising in Power Generation for our Power Systems Business in Daventry, Northamptonshire. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organisation operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • The role of Product Release Assistant Placement will be to act as a member of the Daventry Product Release and Integration team as they support new product introductions, ensuring release activity adheres to the corporate product definition standards.
  • Assist the Product Release Design Integrators by creating engineering product release documents, maintain unique parts listings, track open issues and attend design reviews and project update meetings. Participate in functional excellence activities. You will provide a link between the Design teams and manufacturing departments as they prepare for engine builds and project milestones.
  • We are a Global company and thus have global teams, you will be expected to interact and communicate with the Global team and maintain close links with the Corporate Configuration Management and Design integration teams.
  • The day to day role is similar to project management and involves interaction with the designers and engineers working on new or next generation products, assisting and advising them to progress the project.
  • The work is very Dynamic and varied with exposure to many departments and a wide range of people and there will be opportunities to work and train in many aspects of engineering not just those applicable to this role.
  • You will gain knowledge of how each different business unit uses the information enabling you to gain a broad insight into how large company’s operate and communicate change.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a Bachelor or Master's degree from across all Engineering, Project Management & STEM related subjects.
  • Has experience in, and can demonstrate, relevant examples of Cummins core values e.g. voluntary work, community involvement activities, working with disadvantaged groups, charity related support, delivering superior results, teamwork, competencies and outside education experiences.
  • Has clear thought processes and can show a logical approach to tasks, challenges, hobbies etc.
  • Has sustained interest and achievement within hobbies/interests/out of academia activities.
