We have a vacancy for a Test Engineer working in the Seat Test department at our Denham site. The role holder will be required to work on various development and qualification test programmes, including the preparation and conduct of tests and the subsequent data reduction, analysis and reporting. The successful candidate will be based at Denham but will be required to attend tests at both Chalgrove and Langford Lodge. Attendance at other external test sites may also be necessary.

Area of responsibility
Preparation of ejection seat Programme Plans, Test Plans, Test Instructions, Test Check Lists and assistance with Seat Arming Schedules.
Coordinate and supervise ejection seat tests, delivering briefing to all parties.
Evaluate post Test data, through reduction analysis and interpretation of seat instrumentation data and develop simple analysis tools.
Evaluate post Test data, through reduction analysis and interpretation of photographic data and develop simple analysis tools.
Prepare and issue Flash Reports for review by customer(s) and MBA.
Prepare and issue full Test Report for review by customer(s) and MBA.
Develop theoretical study into seat performance.
Conduct detailed analysis of any failure encountered during Test.
Advise internal and external customers/suppliers/partners etc. on Test queries.
Advise customers, government authorities (US Government, MOD etc.) and suppliers on technical matters related to Testing.
Develop Test Programme Plan.
Education & Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent.
Highly developed communication skills: able to communicate verbally, in presentation format and in writing at senior level; able to develop links with other technical specialists within the business.
Data analysis skills.
Advanced Excel, standard Word and Powerpoint. User knowledge of SAP and Access. Basic macro writing skills.

Knowledge & Experience
The ideal applicant will have:
Experience in developing and managing test programmes.
Experience of conducting successful seat tests, and producing reports and technical data.
In depth knowledge and use of Test and Measurement Instrumentation, and associated test equipment.
Thorough grounding in Health and Safety relating to test environment.
Some familiarity with people management.
