The primary role of the Seat Test Department is to verify ejection seat performance requirements through testing of either the full seat system or major seat sub-systems. The position will require you to undertake a wide variety of project related engineering tasks including some, or all of the following:
Preparation of ejection seat Test Instructions & Test Plans
Preparation of test checklists & risk assessments & chair Test Readiness Review meetings
Coordinate & attend ejection seat tests, delivering briefing to all parties
Evaluate post-test data, through reduction analysis & interpretation of seat instrumentation & photographic data
Prepare & issue Test Record Data Sheets for review by customer(s) and MBA
Prepare & issue full Test Reports for review by customer(s) and MBA
Conduct detailed analysis of any failure encountered during Test
Liaise with internal MBA Departments & external customers on Test queries
Enter data onto Departmental database and keep test records up-to-date.
To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed in order to maintain and / or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided by the Test Department.
You must be working towards a good degree (1st or Upper 2nd Class Hons) in an appropriate engineering based subject (e.g. mechanical engineering, aeronautical, or aerospace engineering).
Basic knowledge & use of Test & Measurement instrumentation, and associated test equipment
Basic grounding in Health & Safety
Experience of producing reports & technical data
Communication skills: able to communicate verbally, in presentation format and in writing
Ability to develop links with other technical specialists within the business
Good data analysis skills
Commercial & financial understanding of product life cycle
Experience in developing & managing test programmes
Good Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills – including basic macro writing skills in Excel.

The ideal applicant will have:
A sound grasp of scientific / engineering theory balanced with a practical approach to engineering problems
Some work experience in an engineering company.
