You will gain a wide array of experience in your day to day role, however as part of the programme you will also complete a number of development modules and activities over a two year period. How the role fits 

The Leonardo Cyber Security Division is a pivotal innovator, supporting our customers to deliver more efficient, safe and secure products and services, whatever their requirements. We are a world leader in safety-through-technology, providing tailored solutions for customers in Defence, Government and Critical National Infrastructure sectors.

Within the Cyber Security Division, our National Cyber Security Centre Certified Consulting practice provides a broad range of independent advice and specialist technical services to identify, manage and mitigate the risk associated with operationally critical ICT and Operational Technology systems.

Leonardo is seeking to grow the practice through the addition of creative thinkers who have a passion for applying technology to solve complex real world problems, and developing our next generation of world beating products. In addition to providing Cyber Security services to our clients you will also be deployed within the wider Leonardo business, which could include providing support to Leonardo’s Enterprise Solutions and Secure Operations Centre to assist developing secure solutions for in-house and external clients. You will be joining our highly skilled team at our Bristol site. This is a great opportunity to bring your talents and form an integral part of Leonardo’s future.

What you will do

The successful candidate will be able to deliver against customer requirements, including analysing data / problems and using relevant expertise / tools to define potential solutions

Work as part of an internal or customer team, delivering services, designs and solutions to meet defined project scope

  • Build and maintain good customer relations
  • Operate independently in setting and delivering work schedule, managing their own time to deliver allocated tasks
  • Provision of advice and consultancy services to Government and Commercial clients.
  • Assist with the formulation and coordination of bids and proposals, providing specialist input through knowledge, examples and research.
  • Undertaking complex problem analysis and solution development in support of consulting tasks

What we are looking for


Please note that in order to apply for this opportunity you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance. Normally this is to the level of Security Check (typically known as “SC”) for our business.


All of our roles require (a) a minimum of an upper Second class Bachelors/Integrated Masters degree, or (b) a higher degree, such as a MSc or PhD. In all cases the subject should be a technically focused degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Broad ICT Technical knowledge - in particular a good understanding of IP Networking and associated concepts
  • An understanding of risk, and how it is applicable in a Cyber Security and Business context

We are also seeking people with a passion for Cyber Security and the drive to develop themselves in a challenging and fast paced environment.

  • Self starter with the ability to work under your own initiative
  • A team player who can effectively work with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver the required outcomes
  • Ability to work with ambiguity
  • A fast learner with the ability to absorb information and pick up new concepts, and apply these to real world scenarios
  • Ability to demonstrate the determination and drive that will be required to deliver a challenging role.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity.
  • Strong personal and presentational skills; Diplomatic with strong written and verbal communication skills
