We're United Utilities, the North West's water company.

From Crewe to Carlisle, we keep the taps flowing and the toilets flushing for 3 million homes and 200,000 businesses across the region.

Being good enough isn't our way of doing things. We want to provide the best water and wastewater services in the UK and be absolutely genuine in the help and support we offer our customers.

Our purpose is to provide great service to customers and communities in the North West, creating long-term value for all our stakeholders.

United Utilities Outward Bound

Our new intake of graduates spent the week at Outward Bound team building and learning more about United Utilities.

We have been awarded with a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award, recognising the Best Places to Work in 2020.  We were ranked #19 company in the UK, based solely on the input of employees, who provide feedback on their jobs, work environments and companies on Glassdoor, one of the world’s largest job and recruiting sites.

Our internship programmes will give you the opportunity to learn first-hand how we make this happen. Our undergraduate and graduate programmes are key to helping us support customers.

Do you have an interest and/or experience in rural and environmental issues?

What you will do

  • We’re looking for an enthusiastic undergraduate to support the Land Agent team with surveys and associated land management tasks over the summer period of 2021.
  • You’ll be an integral part of a well-established team supporting with tasks such as research and mapping across the rural estates.
  • A key part of the role will be clear and concise reporting of findings and feedback to managers.

We celebrate and support diversity and are committed to ensuring equal opportunities for both employees and applicants.

When you join our intern scheme, you'll receive a good salary, and you'll also be eligible for a bonus of up to 7.5%.

You get 6.5 days of holiday to take during your placement, and at our fantastic Lingley Mere site we have an onsite gym, coffee shops and other great facilities. And while access to an award-winning pension scheme might not be top of your priorities right now, responsible employers like us make sure you get one anyway – you'll pay 5% into your pot and you'll get an extra 10% from the company.
