Why Siemens?

This isn’t just a job, it’s a journey. You’ll be part of a vibrant early career’s community, solving real business challenges, learning from experts, and growing every day. We care about your success, your wellbeing, and your future.

What Makes Our Process Different?

No CV Bias: We’re changing the game. Your CV will need to be attached but won’t be seen by the hiring team until the final stage of the recruitment process. We focus on potential, not past experience.

What Will Your Day Look Like?

You’ll work in our R&D electronics engineering team at Siemens’ award-winning site in Congleton UK, part of the Motion Control (MC) division.

You’ll typically be onsite at least 3 days per week, with more time onsite during key phases such as testing. For our intern positions, we recommend 4–5 days onsite to make the most of the experience, with flexibility where needed.

Your role will include:

  • Designing and developing SINAMICS G products and associated options
  • Providing engineering support throughout the product lifecycle
  • Working as part of a cross-functional product development team
  • Contributing to product specifications, early concepts and project planning
  • Designing electronic and power circuits
  • Supporting design for high-volume manufacturing, with a focus on cost targets
  • Helping to integrate products and validate designs through testing and simulation
  • Supporting the introduction of new products into manufacturing
  • Assisting with product approvals (e.g. UL certification)
  • Contributing to ongoing product support and cost reduction initiatives
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to implement changes across our global manufacturing network, ensuring minimal disruption
  • Coordinating your work effectively with your team to keep projects on track

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, if you’re curious, motivated, and ready to learn, we want to hear from you.

To be considered, you should have:

  • An undergraduate or post graduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or a related subject) and looking to start your career in industry
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to share ideas and take on feedback
  • A genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and development

The following would also be beneficial:

  • Experience using tools such as ECAD, SPICE simulation, MATLAB, or similar
  • Familiarity with electronics laboratory equipment
  • A foundation in power electronics

What’s In It For You?

  • 26 days' paid holiday + 5 volunteering days
  • Discounts on everyday spending
  • Subsidised gym memberships
  • Participate in the Intern Collaboration Project, working across departments with likeminded interns on a passion project of your choice.
  • An induction week alongside your Early Careers cohort; build your network and get to know Siemens.
  • A celebration at our Early Careers Gala when you complete your programme!
