The Role

The role would suit an experienced engineer or graduate who is looking for an exciting opportunity in software and hardware engineering and wants to join a great team in a fast-growing technology company.

As a Project Engineer you would be involved in the whole life cycle of projects, from the initial design stage right through to installation, commissioning and support.

Key Accountabilities include:

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Engineer has the following responsibilities:

  • Configuring, tuning and testing the world-leading pipeline leak detection and simulation software for operational gas and liquid pipelines
  • Carrying out detailed data analysis of pipeline operations to optimize system performance
  • Supporting customers in different countries for their application software
  • Preparing progress reports and attending project meetings
  • Performing Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests
  • Installing and commissioning application software at Client’s site in different countries
  • Providing training to Client’s personnel
  • Preparing project related documentation such as system operating and maintenance manuals
  • Conducting on-site service visits
  • Evaluating and improving the performance of the installed software to ensure the live systems are working according to the highest standards.

Key Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Engineering or Physics
  • Excellent computer skills, familiar with VB.NET, C# or C++
  • Good knowledge of computer networking using DCOM or OPC
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Experience or a good understanding of scripting/coding, ideally familiar with MatLab
  • Experience of pipeline/process simulation, hydraulic analysis, pipeline engineering or instrumentation/control systems would be an advantage but not required
