Structa was established in 2004 by four like-minded engineers who wanted to build something better - a business that would serve clients well by bringing together a broad, talented team of engineers and technicians, and giving them the support to do their best work. Twenty years on, that’s exactly what we are: around 40 engineers, technicians and business support staff across four UK offices, delivering projects nationwide. Every year we take on graduates, degree apprentices and trainee technicians, because growing the next generation of engineers and leaders has been part of the plan from the very beginning.
Our purpose is “to develop and harness our engineering expertise, to create a sustainable legacy for those who construct and inhabit the built environment.”
We’re a multi-disciplinary consultancy working for private and public sector clients, on projects ranging from bespoke homes through to major regeneration and new housing developments for leading housebuilders and commercial clients. Our partners are hands-on - they stay close to the work to ensure high levels of technical expertise and client service. It’s an approach that has earned us 80% repeat business.
We’ve always set out to value diversity and build an inclusive culture, because we know it makes our workplace better and our engineering stronger. Many of our long-standing technicians and engineers have achieved professional membership of the ICE with our support - and we back our junior people to develop fast by involving them in real projects from the outset.
We proudly promote careers in engineering and support STEM events at local schools and colleges. Each of our offices supports local homelessness charities - financially and through employee volunteering, fundraising and pro-bono work. We are longstanding partners of DENS in Hemel Hempstead and Threshold in Swindon. Every employee can take two paid days each year for volunteering, and at Christmas we contribute to food hampers for our nominated charities.
Our four owners aren’t remote figures - they lead projects, mentor graduates and sit in the same offices as you.
