In three years at Structa I’ve had the opportunity to develop a wide range of experiences, working on projects including: listed refurbishments, schools, residential buildings, and mixed-use structures. Having this broad exposure to different schemes helps developing an understanding of structural engineering in the full sense, learning to pick the right materials for each project and understanding how design choices interact with one another.
Three years in, I’m directly involved from concept stage, contributing towards developing solutions to structural challenges and gaining experience in communicating with clients and coordinating with architects.
All of this is helping develop me as a professional consulting engineer and providing ample opportunities for progression towards my chartership aims.
