Nearly four years into my career at Structa, I feel like I have grown from someone learning the basics of civil engineering into someone who can take real ownership of the work in front of me. My experience spans drainage, highways, transportation, and levels with strong focus on sustainable development. Over time I have built the confidence to look at a site, understand the constraints, develop the design thinking, and carry that through with increasing independence.
One of the biggest parts of that growth has been the constant learning. Every project brings something different, whether it is a new constraint, or a better way of approaching a design. What has helped me progress is being able to apply what I learn straight away, then build on it again in the next project. That cycle of learning, applying, and improving has made a real difference to the way I work and the confidence I have in my decisions.
At Structa, there is an open atmosphere where communication is encouraged, questions are welcomed and support is always there when you need it. At the same time, you are trusted to work independently and take responsibility, which pushes you to think for yourself and develop your own judgement. That balance of independence and support has been one of the most valuable parts of my experience here.
For me, that is what working at Structa has been about: being given the space to take ownership, the support to keep improving and the opportunity to become a more rounded civil engineer.
