Development & Chartership

WSP isn’t just about the present; it’s about the legacy we leave. Our commitment to reducing carbon footprints and promoting sustainability aligns perfectly with your aspirations. Engage in initiatives that shape the future and create a lasting impact on communities and the planet.
Not only will our programme provide you with the professional skills and technical development needed to progress in your work. It will also enable you to build a network internally and externally and connect with peers.

Chartership

Professional accreditation is an important milestone to reach. After years of study in your field and hard work on the job, you’ll want the recognition that you are at the top of your game.  Our two-year graduate development programme will support you to achieve your goals.

We have established relationships with professional institutions including ICE, IStructE, IET, CIBSE, CIHT, CILT, IMechE, IChemE, IED,TPS, CIWEM, GSL, RGD, RICS, RTPI, SocEnv, or APM and we’ll provide a technical mentor to help you on your journey. We are also able to support professional development with many other approved professional institutions.

Professional Growth Network (PGN)

We are passionate about the growth of our Early Career Professionals and the importance of representing their voices in our evolving business.

Our Professional Growth Network (PGN) is a networking group run by early career professionals for early career professionals.

It helps to grow your network of contacts across the UK business as well as providing you with opportunities for extra experience to support you in achieving chartered status or other professional accreditations.

We have PGN office representatives in most of our locations and they are responsible for engaging with Early Career Professionals in their local office and leading PGN events at a local level.

Our PGN events are designed to support you to connect, develop and feel represented.

Whilst the PGN is run by Early Career Professionals, everyone is encouraged to attend PGN events and benefit from meeting colleagues and building their networks.

What could you get involved with?

  • Lunchtime talks and evening networking events in local offices.
  • Site visits to aid knowledge sharing.
  • STEM activities in local schools and communities.
  • Supporting diversity initiatives such as WISE – a campaign to promote women in science, technology and engineering.
  • A buddying scheme to support new graduates and apprentices.
