Tell us how and why you took the job you are in at Tilbury Douglas.

I first joined Tilbury Douglas as a Summer Placement Student in 2020 while in my 3rd year of university. Despite it being during the middle of the pandemic and the difficulties that created, I was still made to feel like a valued member of the team.

After completing my degree in Quantity Surveying, I was offered a graduate position and leapt at the chance due to the emphasis Tilbury Douglas places on personal development and the opportunities within the business for career progression.

So far, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Company and have been involved in a uniquely challenging project at the Scottish National Galleries.

Career Timeline

• After leaving school at 16, I had various jobs in retail and admin roles before I started a job as a labourer for a windows and doors fitting company.
• It was at this point I became interested in starting a career in construction and after some research I completed a college course in the built environment where I first became interested in quantity surveying.
• I proceeded to successfully complete a BSc Quantity Surveying Degree at GCU during which I started my career with Tilbury Douglas.
