We are looking for graduates to join our Rail teams in 2027. This is an opportunity to work in a leading engineering and professional services consultancy, supporting the design, delivery, operation and improvement of rail infrastructure across the UK. From signalling, telecommunications and power systems to railway stations, passenger environments and digital engineering, you'll help shape the future of safe, efficient and sustainable rail travel.

Opportunities are available in:

  • Rail Advisory Services – Manchester, Derby, Birmingham or Bristol
  • Rail Engineering Services - Asset Management – Belfast
  • Rail Systems Engineering, Integration and Assurance – London, Birmingham or Bristol
  • Rail Stations - London
  • Rail  - Derby or London

A little bit more about your role and the team…

As a Graduate within our Rail business, you will contribute to projects that help keep rail networks safe, reliable and efficient while improving the experience of passengers and communities. Working alongside experienced engineers, planners and specialists, you'll gain exposure to multidisciplinary projects across the rail sector, from major infrastructure programmes and station developments to rail systems and operational improvements.

Your work could include supporting the development of technical designs, coordinated BIM models and engineering solutions, analysing operational or technical data, contributing to reports and designs, attending site visits, engaging with clients and stakeholders, and helping to solve complex engineering challenges.

Whether you're supporting signalling and telecoms systems, electrification and power projects, station environments or systems integration activities, you'll gain valuable experience while helping to deliver the railways of the future.

What we’re looking for

  • You will have, or be on track to achieve, at least a 2:2 in a relevant Master’s degree such as Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services engineering, so a closely related discipline.
  • You will be looking to start work in September 2027.
  • You will have an interest in rail infrastructure, transport systems, building services engineering, railway operations or the delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • You will be curious, collaborative and motivated to solve challenges that help shape the future of rail.
  • You will be comfortable working with a range of specialists across engineering disciplines, sharing ideas and learning from experienced professionals.
  • You will want to take ownership of your work and development while creating value for our clients.
  • You will actively seek opportunities to develop your technical expertise and broaden your experience across the rail sector.

Don’t quite meet all the criteria? Should you have the right qualifications for our roles, apply and we can see how your experience aligns to this role and other opportunities we have available for our Graduate programme.
