Our Energy Solutions team is at the forefront of the drive to decarbonise the way we heat and cool our buildings. Reducing emissions from this sector is key to delivering a Net Zero future as it’s responsible for more than 40% of the UK’s CO2 emissions. UK government policy in this space is developing rapidly and WSP are right at the heart of this working on pilot initiatives and providing supporting analysis.
You’d be joining a highly experienced and expert team with an international reputation for the quality of its energy modelling and analysis work and energy systems design. You’ll be working on international and UK projects and get the opportunity to experience the full range of project development roles, from initial data gathering and evaluation, through detailed modelling and feasibility assessment, to design and specification and on to construction contract duties.

We asked our graduates what it’s like to do their job. On a day to day basis, the life of a graduate at WSP starts off in the morning with cups of tea and responding to any urgent client emails.
Beyond that, anything could happen! You could get involved in report writing, modelling or design calculations in 3D software packages. Your day could also involve visiting site and liaising with contractors, discussing options for concept designs with colleagues, responding to client requests for information or meetings with the team about the scope and progress of projects.
Naturally, there is a lot to learn and you are likely to be guided through complex software packages, team briefings and client updates from the start.

The programme is supported by our senior leadership team and is tailored give you the support, guidance and the development opportunities you need to help you work towards Chartered status or equivalent professional qualifications.
