As a graduate you will be enrolled into QinetiQ’s two year Graduate Development Programme. This has been designed to give you maximum exposure to the company as well as all the necessary training for your selected role. You will be assigned to a Skill Group based on your expertise and experience. Once situated, you will be given access to world class technology, unique facilities and a strong support network to help develop your career path.
You will be able to choose from over 100 rotational placements throughout QinetiQ so that you can learn to understand the company as a whole. The role of the graduate would be to develop networking and infrastructure skills and apply these across multiple business areas including but not exclusive to Research, Cyber, Mission systems and Training to provide the right networking capability for their customers. Activities will include design, testing and configuration of networking and infrastructure systems, system and security administration, Integration and problem solving. The Communications engineers work on providing military radio and satellite systems on to a number of military platforms including ships and submarines.
You will receive hands-on experience of military radios in the laboratory environment, and will learn about the features they incorporate that enable them to fulfil their role. You will work on research and project support activities alongside our communication system experts. You will receive tutorials on aspects of radio communications and will undertake activities selected from: measuring radio performance, modelling waveforms and protocols, integrating radio system modules, developing a software defined radio capability. As the opportunity arises you will take part in field trials, measurement campaigns, capability demonstrations and/or military platform visits.
